yOR View is a virtual experience designed to help young patients manage stress relating to surgery. Using virtual reality, yOR View works to demystify the uncertainties of surgery while creating a welcoming, engaging and informative experience for patients and their families.

A New Introduction
At the time of their pre-opt consultation, yOR View headsets are loaned to patients, providing them with a virtual window to learn about the process involved in their operation and explore the surroundings of the operating environment.
Familiarizing The Unfamiliar
yOR View is a sensory-rich experience that not only incorporates sight and sound to familiarize patients with their upcoming operation, but uses touch and smell as well. The design of the yOR View headset features a mask worn over the wearer's mouth to acquaint them with the sensation of the anesthesia mask worn in surgery.
A shared experience
yOR View is not only designed for young patients, but for parents and caregivers as well. yOR View headsets are provided to families to take home with them following their pre-opt consultation so that they may continue to familiarize themselves with their upcoming surgery. Parents can share in the experience, while also having access to virtual tours of the hospital. Users can even create their own interactive virtual maps throughout the hospital departments based on their appointment schedule.
Experience Upgrade
When arriving for their surgery, patients are able to return their loaned headset and receive an upgraded headset featuring new content to help prep them for their surgery.
Patients may also continue using their yOR View headsets throughout their operation, depending on the procedure involved.
